The Ridgefield Playhouse Set within a lovingly restored building designed by Cass Gilbert Jr., the Ridgefield Playhouse has played to many sold-out audiences since its December 2000 opening night performance by Jose Feliciano. Famed performers have included Joan Baez, Peter Yarrow, Marcel Marceau, Barbara Cook and the Moscow Boys Choir. The Playhouse also hosts film events and an international film series with something for everyone in the family. Community events such as the Ridgefield High School Orchestra Concert and Annual Town Meeting have also found a new home at The Playhouse.
Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Within walking distance of The Elms Inn, the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra offers highly popular performances to critical acclaim. The RSO broadens the musical experience of the community and offers an inspiring experience. RSO Maestro and Music Director Sidney Rothstein leads the orchestra to glorious and brilliant performance, selecting programs that span the spectrum of symphonic music. You can hear the RSO at the refurbished Anne S. Richardson Auditorium and the intimate Ridgefield Playhouse. A Youth Orchestra, Family Concert, Youth Competition and Special Concerts for Ridgefield Schools help to raise the appreciation of classical music among the area’s youth.
The Ridgefield Theater Barn In 1965 a handful of residents banded together dedicated to creating a community theater. This not-for-profit organization has grown and now offers 5-6 quality productions annually.
The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance The prestigious Conservatory is known for its exceptional faculty, and is a training ground featuring the highest quality dance education for all ages. The Conservatory promotes a professional atmosphere, regularly exposing students to guest master teachers and visiting companies. Recent guests have appeared from the New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theater, Broadway, and much more.
